Poor fella isn’t well, I’d suggest getting in contact with a hedgehog rescue. They really shouldn’t be out in daytime at all.

Hopefully those numbers still work.
They’re often out in daytime if they have young back in the nest. It’s the only time they get to forage with the kids all asleep. So if you just yark it away you might end up killing off a whole litter.
Phone a hedgehog rescue and they’ll know what to do.
That’s definitely not right. Hedgehog rescue Dublin are a good place to try https://www.facebook.com/hedgehogrescuedublin/
I literally had this experience a few hours ago, we took the hedgehog to a wildlife rescue near Dundalk, we were right to do it because the hedgehog was dehydrated and starving to death but it wasn’t too obvious to us just looking at him, on my understanding if they’re out at day that’s a good indicator that somethings off, get it to a wildlife rescue asap if possible
Thanks for helping him/her. I brought a bird my dads cat caught to the wildlife people in Meath. Had to get the bird an antibiotic first (wildlife centres instructions) as they need one after cat bites. The vet (not my usual vets practice) actually charged me a consult fee for taking the bird there!! And he wouldn’t give the bird the injection that I was asked to get it. No other vet has charged me for bringing wildlife in. Poor bird died but not from the cat attack. It kept spinning in circles and had no signs of injury only it’s tail was to the side from all the spinning. No one knows what caused the spinning.
I found like this too , we thought he died so our group ( 7 yea olds ) buried him . Now they put houses in his grave and we joke he haunts thejouse
Fair play to you for taking him to the vet – good to know there’s good people around when all you read is negative stuff on this subreddit! Could you post an update whenever you hear back from them?
Unlike most other nocturnal animals, hedgehogs are FIERCELY nocturnal. Any hedgehog out in daylight is in a bad way. It’s either sick or starving
Good on you looking after the wee prickly fella.
