Map of Ireland showing percentage of land stolen by the British during colonialism

  1. This doesn’t make sense considering after Cromwell’s invasion only 6% of Ireland was left in Irish hands

  2. Connacht residents unsure of whether to be jealous of Sligo or not – what do they have that we don’t ?!

  3. This map shows the land confiscated during the Cromwelliian settlement, not the “land stolen by the Brits during colonialism”. Its literally the caption to the image. You need to brush up your reading comprehension.

  4. Much of the key lane in Co Galway was owned by the big Burke or his cousin. Smaller parcels were owned by other English landlords. Places like Spiddal had owners such as Morris, but I fail to see how the percentage could be so low.

Why is Galway in a different color ?
