Naast het effectieve probleem, is er nog iemand die nogal verbijsterd naar al die media-analyses kijkt? Jarenlang roepen dat CDV geen ruggengraat heeft en nu opeens schiet de media in een colerige kram als ze hun been voor één keer wel stijf houden?

Not sure I’m naive but I do understand their position. I don’t see how you can only index part of kinderbijslag efficiently. Based on ‘income’ excludes again rental income for example, so it’s a utopia to think it will then go to the right families. Also, how will you maintain that system for the years to come? What if a family starts earning more, they lose their “specially indexed kinderbijslag”?. Not sure we need more complexity in this country. Would not be surprised it’ll cost more to maintain such a separation than to just fully index kinderbijslag for everyone. How much money is this partially indexed kinderbijslag going to save in relative terms of our budget? I’d be surprised if it’s significant.

You can be against kinderbijslag. But you can’t be for kinderbijslag and against indexation.

Indexation just means that sometihing keeps up with the price of living. Being against indexation of kinderbijslag means you are for the lowering of kinderbijslag.
​
On the other hand, I don’t think this is the way to go to solve the crisis, it’s not a targeted measure towards those who need it most.
