  1. Blatant bloody corruption. Lovely we have a chancellor who is a consultant for a company making bets against our country. Lovely thank you Tories.

  2. Worth adding he did the same in 2016 after the EU vote, and is also very close personal friends with JRM, helping him out quite a lot with his own hedge fund Somerset Management. I doubt he’s the only individual but he’s a sterling example of the sickness of political corruption afflicting this country today. We are not governing for the best interests of the nation, but the best interests of incredibly wealthy fucks like this.

  3. How can we call ourselves a democracy when only the rich and wealthy have the strings to pull the government anymore? What is the actual difference between UK billionaires/millionaires and Russian oligarchs at this point in time

  4. Shit like this should be considered insider trading and illegal. Especially when this is the big reason why these twats have supported Brexit and bankrolled politicians into committing economic hara-kiri.

  5. “Now as I look around, it’s mighty plain to see

    This world is such a great and a funny place to be;

    **Oh, the gambling man is rich and the working’ man is poor,**

    And I ain’t got no home in this world any more.”

    * Woody Guthrie from “The Dust-bowl Ballads”

  6. why isn’t more being made of this?

    These cnts are banking on the collapse of the United Kingdom whilst they garner the unwavering support from “patriots”.

    These politicians are criminal and need to be behind bars.

  7. Baffles me how we, as the British public, don’t hold a single on of these criminals accountable for their actions.

    We’ll quickly jump on the internet to discuss and complain, but wouldn’t dream of collectively punishing our politicians for their poor form.

    Maybe having too much of a good thing is true. We all live relatively comfortable lives, and some random bourgeoisie getting richer has little to no impact on what’s on TV tonight; that’s the only reason I can think that we wouldn’t riot against this fuckery.

  8. How about Somerset Capital aka Jacob Rees Moggs little bit on the side. They have a short position on the pound too.

  9. This is who the budget was for, if anyone thinks it was a budget meant to help the average Brit then they need to pay closer attention to what the Toires have done and are continuing to do. They could easily get the country back on track, they are actively choosing not to do that because it is not in their best interest.

  10. Worth noting that Odey’s fund had pretty poor performance in 2018 & 2019.

    Think they got hurt quite badly in Oct 2020 after the news of a successful Covid vaccine development came out causing a massive rotation out of tech into bricks-and-mortar businesses benefitting from the “great reopening”.
