Chancellor denies gambling with economy as pound sinks to near historic lows

  1. This guy went to Cambridge and Harvard. He should know about economics. Clearly these institutions are worthless places.

  2. This is a cash grab.

People close to members of government in a personal capacity have all seen profits from this. Its not the first time and it’s not the last.

Remember we live in a country of who you know, not what you know.

  3. There are only two words Tories ever have for their actions : Deny and Defend.

Why do their voters find it so hard to recognise that their Defending & Denying is entirely because the outcomes we see are precisely as they intend !

That when the outcome is *even worse* for us and better for their “friends”, that is a GOOD day in Conservatism.

  4. This may be a bit of a tin-foil hat theory. But I’m convinced that the Tories have put the worst team possible into power in a conceited effort to push the country as far to the right at possible before they lose the next general election – so that when a Labour government comes in, they’ll have to implement immediate tax rises, reduce stamp duty allowances, NI rises to fund healthcare etc etc, effectively forcing labour into making difficult and unpopular positions early on in their tenure.

  5. The fact all of what Truss is doing is against what their 2019 manifesto mentions should be enough to show she has no mandate.

We need a GE now really.

  6. They aren’t gambling. It would only be a gamble if there was at least an outside chance of the plan working. This is outright theft, borrowing money and handing it to the rich while they still can.

Bring on the next election …

  7. He has no idea what hrs doing. Someone in the background is pulling all the strings and everyone is doing as they say.

    Absolute shit show!!

Once a great country is about to fall apart

  8. He’s not lying if it was his intention to create an economy that works for him, his friends and Tory party donors. It was certainly not a gamble if you were one of the people he planned to benefit from the budget. It is not even a gamble for the rest of us, this was the plan after all.

  9. And he’s right, he’s not gambling with the economy. He’s deliberately bending it over and sticking a stick of dynamite up its arse.

  10. Everyone ready for the stories to start coming out that “top” Tory MPs bet against the £ prior to the announcements?
