Can you help me read this? I bought a book from a charity shop and this note was buried a few pages in and I’d like to understand it but I’m struggling with the handwriting. Seems this book was a gift for someone 🙂

  1. First bit is remembering your birthday a few days late.

Last bit seems to be ‘and I’m sure Elvis would wave too’

  2. Hi Annie

Remembering your birthday a few days late!

Anyway, we love you & I’m sure Elvis would have too

  4. “Hi Annie,

Remembering Yom’s birthday, a fear days late.

Anyway, why love you? I’ve some Elves, have you too?”

I’m guessing Russ may have had a terrible time at Yom’s birthday, traumatic even. Only dawns on him a few days after and he writes to Annie questioning why anyone would love her.

Finishes off gloating about his elves.

  5. Sure no problem.

  11. Hi Annie, remembering your birthday a few days late.

Idk what the second line says. They write like my grandma, and I need help reading that 😅

  12. “Hi Annie, Remembering your birthday a few days late. Anyway, my [word] you & I’m sure Elvis would have too.

    Russ & Peg”

That’s the most I got but I think the other comment there is spot on.

  15. Hi Annie,

Remembering your symptoms, I’ve prescribed you with Benylin for a few days.
Take this note to your local pharmacist and they’ll have it ready for you.

  16. I’ll translate

    “Hi Annie

  18. I learned cursive at school, which makes me feel old. This is very much a generation thing. Anyone over 30 should be able to read this note. :/

  20. Is this an “I can’t read cursive” situation? Because this is fairly legible.

Then again, I am a teacher so I do have experience reading rough handwriting.

  21. Sure thing!
    It says:
