Is there a “Parole” system in iceland or do they serve their full sentences, and does Life imprisonment mean imprisonment for life without parole as I’ve heard from some sources (Even though Wikipedia says it’s at least 16 years and not Life without parole)

  1. The maximum sentence for any crime in Iceland is 16 years. There is no life imprisonment here.

And no, prisoners generally do not serve their full sentence.

  2. It says through one source that I linked that It does exist However it has only been imposed twice and they were reversed i heard

  3. They usually spend 2/3 in prison, they get even extra off if they go to AA program. In very rare cases people get less if the person you kill made your life a living hell.
