I’ve heard a very similar story about Loreto college in Dublin, allegedly loads of nuns burned to death because they didn’t want to go out in their pyjamas.
I have to assume at least one of these is being made up
Literally nothing about the church in this country shocks me anymore. We had mass graves found and nothing done about it due to people’s fucking apathy
And people wonder why many of us don’t want the Catholic church near our school system.
My great grand uncle was a firefighter in Cavan at the time. He saw nuns smoking outside nonchalant while little girls banged on the door to get out. After this, he never could look at the Catholic church the same. He became an alcoholic and was never the same. More quiet and easier brought to tears.
At least I think
Horrible story. Another one. And to think I still have to explain to people why I won’t baptise my kids 🤦♂️
