Under Liz Truss Foreign Office spending on p-cards (credit cards given to staff to streamline the process of buying expensible things) went up 45%. Somone spent £4,333.30 on two trips to the hairdresser. Someone spent £1,841 in the Norwich City FC club shop ([Truss is a Norwich City fan BTW](https://twitter.com/fleetstreetfox/status/1572987781852413952/photo/1)), an unspecified amount on buying ‘extensive supplies’ of wine and £21,000 on new ministerial red boxes.
This should be a career ending scandal. It won’t be but it should.
At least spend my tax at big club. Why Norwich ffs
This will be the first of many, many scandals. Just like the mop-haired clown before her. Yet there will be no repercussions or consequences, as always.
Austerity for thee, but not for me. Benefits cuts to the disabled, but wine and highlights on expenses.
Has always seemed odd to me how politicians are just allowed to commit fraud in this country.
I would never be allowed to keep my job if I got caught with my hand in the till.
The problem is they think it’s their money. I had a company credit card at my old job and got called in for a meeting as I put some paracetamol through on it (16p) whilst buying my lunch. The idea I could go shopping with their cash is insane…but here it’s normal and no biggie
My first thought when I read this the other day was a culture of just rinsing corporate credit cards.
My second thought was I wonder if FCDO gives procurement cards to spooks. An over the top haircut or a signed footy t-shirt sounds like the kind of stuff an intel officer would buy for an agent giving them a moderately helpful piece of information.
It’s probably the fraud though.
The spend 2k at a guitar shop. I could probably argue that they were doing some entertaining at Norwich FC with dignitaries and they bought them all shirts and hats, but why does govt business take you to a guitar shop? Unless someone fancied a nice guitar. Or several not so nice guitars and are forming a band of average sounding guitars.
Honestly people complain abour the royal family but the state of these cunts
