Hello Switzerland, I am trying to open a company as a EU citizen, and I found this [EasyGov.swiss](https://EasyGov.swiss) portal which seems like an officially supported e-government solution, and it appears referenced in [official websites](https://www.seco.admin.ch/seco/en/home/Standortfoerderung/KMU-Politik/E-Government/easygov-swiss.html).

They give you a PDF that you should sign and send to a notary, who will register the company for you. The problem is… no one seems to know it? Notaries ask for all the information again through their own forms, and have even told me it seems like a scam?

I am tired of wasting time. Does anyone know a notary that can work with this, or otherwise tell me if I should not use it?

Thank you!

  1. What kind of business do you want to open? Because at least if you want to start a sole proprietorship, there are really no advantages to registering there.

  2. easygov.swss is legit and from the SECO / Swiss Government.

But it is more a helpful guideline what steps have to be done. After you did the notary part, you usually will have to do the registration with the commercial register yourself. Either because the notary will not do it (like in canton Zurich) or because it will costs way too much for something that simple.

  3. Use gruenden.ch and contact your cantonal Handelsregisteramt (commercial registry) and their website. You find everything you need to know there

  4. If you are not a resident and you want to create a registered company you will need someone in the board of directors that is a resident.

Once this is solved you can go to any web base company or local company that offer such services and handle the paperwork and notary side.
Normally everything can be done remotely from your end.
