To note as an earlier versions was posted previously here or cross posted from r/leagueofIreland , the updates are all the former top division clubs from after 1950 have been added to the map including likes of Monaghan town, Kildare fc, old Cork and Dublin clubs etc.
Also added is the new incoming Kerry FC club that should be entering into the 1st division in 2023.
This map may become more relevant in time as a lot of the former top clubs featured are still present as Senior regional league clubs or underage clubs. This is pertinent because there is serious discussion of a 3rd division coming into existence soon. (As is the case up North)
Other things to note even with defunct pro clubs shown, there is such a dearth of soccer clubs in certain areas of the republic such as Mayo, south midlands, Clare, Meath etc
Seen there was talk of Kilkenny’s soccer stadium being regenerated. Be good to see as soccer is big down there funny enough. Maybe the Kilkenny-Carlow youth club could create something senior.
Home Farm? Dublin City? Cabinteely?
Are Monaghan active at the moment? We’ve had CMUL (cavan and monagnan) underage teams but have we a senior team going? Hopefully we do.
Wasn’t that long we were gonna be in Fifa back in the early 2010’s
Miss you Thurles Town FC 😥
Belfast celtic?
Ballyclare Comrades is in the wrong spot (Ballyclare is a town about 10 miles from Larne.)
Dundela FC is also missing. If I see anything else, I’ll let you know.
Great work though and enjoyable to look at.
Omagh Town?
Incoming yank dumb question: When is (are?) the season(s)? Would like to catch a game in November if possible and no idea where to look to find a schedule.
Cork United were a top-level team for a while too.
Thank you so much for using the old Bray crest.
I really miss Sporting Fingal
Dollingstown FC aren’t actually based in Dollingstown. They’re a couple of miles out, on the Dromore Road.
Good map. Shows you where the soccer strongholds are big north east vs south west divide
Frankfort FC?
Imagine all that under an all Ireland league
Missing Limerick United
Missing Institute FC in Derry. Great map!
Past present and future*, unless I somehow missed some kerry related news

Edit: Also credit to [the Forgotten Clubs site](https://forgottenclubs.wordpress.com/irish-clubs/) which serves as fantastic source on all these former professional or top-level clubs
