‘Serious concerns’ Russia will attack underwater internet cables near Ireland

  1. Spies, Cyberattacks, Russian Warships in Irish EEZ, threats for sinking Ireland with nuclear attacks and still many people here “can’t find” any proper reason to join NATO lol

  2. If you had to pick a type of infrastructure to attack, internet cables would not be the best target.

They *can* be attacked, yes, but it’s also comparatively easy to re-route the traffic, and they’re easy to repair compared to a gas pipeline.

So the attacker gets all the downside of blame for the attack, plus very little actual real-world impact.

  3. I have the feeling Russia wants to escalate the war so they can make credible threats about nuclear war if they don’t get what they want.

  4. Probably only a matter of time before the next big story is the rescue effort to save Russian mariners from a sub taking on water off the Irish coast.

  5. Russians are deliberatly trying to start a nuclear war. Maybe they even try to provoke the west to shoot first. This is unbeliavable, they really don’t know how to lose.

  6. If people want to take away my ~~porn~~ Internet, that makes me only want to fight those people, who took away my ~~porn~~ Internet.
