The UK Is Rejoining the Space Race

  1. >rather than shipping their satellites to the US or other locations, could take a relatively shorter jaunt to the UK.

They really seem to be reaching with this as a benefit of launching from the UK – does anyone really care about where they have to ship their satellite to?

  2. God i HATE this article.

“These will not be large rockets like those used by NASA to launch spacecraft to the moon, or by Russia to fly humans to the International Space Station. Instead they will be relatively modest, designed to take small satellites into space—**but filling an interesting gap in rocket launch capability, as there are no active launch sites in Europe right now, large or small.**”

Uhm how about mentioning Arianespace also the Vega-C which is a European small set launcher.

Or Does that not fit your narrative since France is far more capable in space and rocketry than the UK.

French Guiana isn’t even mentioned in the article despite being Europe’s Space port.

“If we get there first, a lot of the European business will come to us for small satellite launches.”

    Bullshit

  3. Headline is misleading. It’s a US Company launching their rocket into British airspace. Virgin Orbit are rejoining the space race. Britain is not.
