Free prescriptions for over 60s could be axed due to possible pension change

  1. What the article heading says and what it actually means are different things
Those over 60 but under pension age would lose free prescriptions till they qualify for state pension… its a dick move still, but doesn’t mean they are actually doing away with them for over 60’s generally like the heading sounds

    They love that grey vote

  2. Sounds good, I don’t understand why the biggest users of a service would be exempt from contributing to it like the rest of us.

  3. I think in the coming years we’re just going to have to cut some benefits that pensioners get, or we get some convoluted two tier system where everyone over 70/75 still gets free stuff but younger pensioners get their stuff reduced.

  4. So by the time I retire, which is a ways away, I should just expect no rights by then. Already lost the free London transport, now going to be losing this. You’d think the conservatives would want to look after their main voting demographic.
