A lot of high horse comments here, but Saudi Arabia is the biggest arms export market of any western country that export arms.
It’s how they buy influence. Them and any rich gulf states.
And because arms manufacturing is the one sector remaining that western governments allow state intervention, it is often one of the few manufacturing industries retained and the most politically motivated industry. “Jerbs!”.
Arms sales to tyrants need to stop. But it can’t be done alone by individual countries.
