  1. Its closed but only people who have tourist visas. If orcs have family matters here, urgent property matters or humaniterian reasons they will be let in.

So basicly its not closed at all, damn our leftist goverment and fuck this shit!

  2. How do Finns feel about this? On one hand, it seems cruel to reject Russian men fleeing the conscription; on the other hand, who can tell if the people fleeing the draft are still Putin fanboys or are genuinely anti-war.

I’m not a Finn and I’m curious about how people over there see this issue.

  3. this is actually serious. I am concerned that this will increase tensions and invade Finland.

I might be overthinking too much but Putin will not ever take an L.

  4. Wtf u guys are crazy on this crazy anti russia trip . Just accept them they bring as much money as the Ukrainians to ya economy

I think closing the border may be partly to preempt this, but they still need to debate the part about canceling existing visas. I don’t think this can be done without some agreement with EU though?

I’m conflicted about this border closure too. On the one hand, I understand the argument from the humanitarian perspective. One less able body for Russia is good.

On the other hand, not willing to fight doesn’t mean you’re anti-Putin or Pro-Ukrainian. When the last Russian coming over the Vaalimaa border throws a V sign….. and even [Al Jazeera is quoting fleeing Russian’s trying to justify Russia’s position, you start to have second thoughts.](https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/9/27/russians-flee-into-georgia-after-putins-partial-mobilisation)

    >“My position is the DPR and LPR were to some extent mistreated [by Ukraine] so I understand why fighting broke out, but I don’t want to die for someone else’s imperial ambitions,” said Alexey, referring to the Russia-backed separatist statelets in Ukraine that are currently voting in referendums on whether to join Russia.

    >“I love my country, I consider myself a Russian patriot,” said Volodya, “but I don’t involve myself in politics and my family wants me alive. So between them and a situation [the war] I’m not certain about, I choose my family. At the same time, I’m ashamed I’m not there to watch my brothers’ backs.”

    >There are plenty of threads I think from the Kazakhstan, Georgia, Mongolia, etc… subreddits that show a similar trend. Where they either espouse to be apolitical but at the same time answer political questions like Crimea in favor of Russia.

I think I’m willing to give them a mulligan for Crimea test question (which would be considered excessively generous by my Ukrainian friends), but at the same time, these people fleeing Russia at least have to throw me a bone – at least some contrition and indication that Feb 24 was wholesale wrong.

Otherwise, I’m tempted to use the argument that is better to send them back to Russia might actually benefit Ukraine. If 200.000 army is filled half with poor morale soldiers is weaker due to disunity than 100.000 filled with soldiers all in lock step and committed to the official Russian narrative.
