Giveway budget just got bigger
Core budget 2023 package set to exceed the €6.7 billion figure outlined in Summer Economic Statement. Indications that discussion today examined €12 increase to weekly welfare payments and a €500 tax credit for renters. Party leaders expected to meet again tonight.

Ah tax credit of renters???^^^wooo
Woohoo, get to give people working and claiming more money… don’t mind pension or disability but I do mind those already working and claiming jobseekers.
That’s all positive.
The buy off begins, short term pay out while they rob you of the future.
Election coming soon?
Madness. During a labour shortage they’re giving more to scroungers.
If you can’t work, go on disability.
Asking people working a 40-hour week to fund a €648 tax-free pay rise for anyone who chooses not to work is a bit much.
FUCK OFF with this “giveaway” budget terminology – taking less in tax is not the same as “giving away”
500 credit for renters, thats insulting.
At a minimum it should be 20%.
Woohoo!
This reminds me of what Budget days used to be like back in the mid-2000s. Bertie was in charge, the Tiger was roaring, they couldn’t give us money fast enough. Great times!
A give*back* budget. It’s our money.
Trying to buy voters.
Last chance grab.
Shit they could have and should have done YEARS ago
Why would jobseekers go up in an era of near full employment?
Fuck off and take your Tory attitude elsewhere. It’s our taxes, It doesn’t belong to FG or FF and I want it spend to help those in need simple as that.
Its only a giveaway budget for those on welfare. To those who work its a small respite from insane costs
Buy the next election
“See we’re fixing things.. don’t let them Shinners ruin it all now”
Meanwhile TDs get a nice pay rise(for doing an awful job) by any kpi or measure
And roll on the Garda drivers state cars once again..
We’ve learned nothing clearly
