Coop has been running these ads the last two years: [2020](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFXPQtFA7-Q) [2021](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-XeroFJr04)
I thought cool some local folklore, but it doesn’t say barbegazi anywhere. I also don’t recall seeing anything within Switzerland about them, and now I’m doubting that it’s even a “real” thing here. Maybe it’s like one of those cute facts one country has for another that isn’t really true since I only recall hearing about these “Swiss/French” mythological creatures in the US.
It doesn’t even bring up anything about them in French wikipedia which is making me doubt their cultural relevance here even more.

No one knows what it is, but it’s provocative … it gets the people shopping!
My daughter loves the plush and calls it “Le Migou”. We have 4 of them all over the house and one just in case waiting for his time.
I personnally love those “free” plushies, they are almost the only stuffed toys in our house. I don’t spend more than what I would spend normally to get them but it sure makes me shop more at Coop than at Migros XD
