This group are an embarrassment to the community and country. Who wouldn’t want this?
>The council says the corridor has been zoned for the provision of this amenity facility since 1996.
Hmmm
They tried pushing this to the wider community and were completely shouted down. Deleted everything off the Facebook groups and stuff.
This development has been planned for over 20 years and is the reason the estates are shaped the way they are. Tell you what, people don’t like being told they didn’t do any bit of research before making a massive house purchase.
Some residents. Has there been any polling done to see who is for and who is against?
Funny thing is they never even studied the drawings.
Step 1. Buy house
Step 2. Become a nimby
Whinging about a greenaway… give them a motorway through their neighbourhood instead.
“oh yeah baby, I’m ramming my greenway right up your community”
I wouldn’t mind a greenway being rammed through my area tbh
Why the fuck would you not want a greenway?
Bisect a green space with a cycle way? Lord have mercy how disgusting.
I like how the petty adults , and the newspaper, drag the kids into the picture, as if children too are against a bike path that will make them healthier and enable greater youth transport independence. I guess generational ignorance has to be taught at home.
Here’s hoping the council exercises their zoning rights and these miserable people will go off to gripe about something else.
Also, I 100% guarantee some of these people will use the amenity once installed.
I’ve heard of a lot of greenways being objected to over the years. Why on earth would you not want a green way near you? Would this amenity not actually increase the value of surrounding property.
I must be missing something?
Seems to be a lot of Locals V Cyclist or vice versa going on.
I actually understand being opposed to this, there should be a train line instead.
