`A government spokesperson said: “Our work with the French to prevent the unacceptable rise in dangerous Channel crossings is ongoing.”`
so that could mean-
a) that France has pulled out, but the UK is still engaged
b) both countries are still engaged and talks are ongoing
Also,
`French government sources told the Daily Mail that the comments led to a “tirade” from Macron’s team and that a deal to try and stop migrant crossings was ditched because of it.`
`A deal was said to be very close to completion, with a press release already drawn up to announce it.`
It will be interesting to see what the press release is now, whether the deal is cancelled.
Reminds me of when Dubya shot himself in the foot with that “with us or against us” bullshit.
It was terribly indiscreet of her to tell the truth like that with no thought as to the ramifications.
