Even Zelensky knows this won’t get accepted. It is a symbolic gesture that all the negotiations are over, since Ukraine remaining neutral is the main officially stated goal of Putin.
I love Ukraine and hope they win the war, but I really hope NATO countries refuse their entrance. I’m not willing to fight or get nuked for them
Now since Russia think it’s not fighting in Ukraine, then I say we should accept the application.
Putin symbolically annexes more Ukrainian territory. Zelenskyy symbolically requests to join NATO. I guess Putin will have to make a surprise visit to the new “Russian territories” now, in order to receive the adulation of the 98% who voted yes to joining Russia.
