Hello, Slovakia! I have made a 3D rendered elevation of the High Tatry based on a 1930 Hungarian tourist map and I wanted to share it with you. I hope you like it.

  1. And I’ll leave here some more info about the project:

The original map can be found in high resolution at [Polona](http://polona.pl), a huge Polish repository of high quality old documents of any kind.

The elevation data comes both from the [Polish Geoportal](https://mapy.geoportal.gov.pl/imap/Imgp_2.html?gpmap=gp0) and the [Slovakian Geoportal](https://www.geoportal.sk/en/zbgis-smd/download-section/), being one metre resolution DTMs at the Polish side and ten metres resolution DTMs at its Slovakian counterpart.

Most of the process has been developed using QGIS and Blender, plus a bit of Photoshop afterwards just to adjust lights.

I’ll be around in case you have any questions, suggestions or requests. Feel free to ask.

And last, if you like what I do and want to see some more maps of the world, you can always find me at [@the.itinerarium](http://instagram.com/the.itinerarium) on Instagram.

    Thanks!
