John Curtice: Independence debate becoming more polarised

  1. I’m going to enjoy the coming contortions of logic to explain “this union good, that union bad”.

  2. These things can be nasty when the ball gets rolling. If you want to be in the EU and you want Britain to stay together, you’re going to feel immense pressure to either pick a side or drop-out of political engagement.

  3. EUs purpose and the United Kingdoms is incomparable.
For the most part uk voted consistently in favour of EUs policy.
Westminster rarely votes in alignment with Scotlands population.

    Contortion is not necessary,

  4. Quite incredible after 1200 years that anglo saxons and celts never managed integration.

On a small island with very few cultural or genetic differences.

Wounder what Britains ethnic tensions will look like in 200 years.

Will probably be all robots and stuff by then but would be interesting to see how it would have played out.
