Hope they worked over time to make the extra sausage baps needed.
They had them work on a public holiday for no extra financial compensation? Fuck off
In regards to food production businesses, lot of them you can’t just shut down for a day. Food also has short shelf lives, especially in production. Shutting for a day is just not viable for most businesses.
I looked it up, 2 Sisters has 14,000 employees. A holiday for that many employees, averaging £100 per day per employee is £1.4 million quid. 2 Sisters currently is sitting on a £22m loss this year, due to increased ingredient costs.
So yeah. Not ever business was in a position to give an extra day off to every staff member, with 6 days notice.
I’d have prefer a sausage on toast then the day off cos I had to use a holiday
Absolutely no reason they could not had held the funeral on a Sunday and given the public 2/3 weeks notice on the bank holiday. People are scrambling to just stay afloat right now and the disruption was not helpful.
Mmm that looks… edible.
Is it meat or a chocolate brownie?
I worked.
I didn’t have the benefit of being paid to have a day off for a royal occasion, while spending the day jeering at them on social media
