So she didn’t win the case on the basis of gender or racial discrimination.
But as a Jew, I really hate that she thinks that she can justify being an obnoxious arsehole by saying “it’s my race”.
And that her doing so is belittling actual discrimination faced by Jews and every other ethnic minority in this nation.
> In its judgment, the tribunal said: “The race discrimination claim is based on her eastern European Jewish heritage, which she says gives her inherent characteristics (in the way she interacts with people) which she says were the reasons for the way she dealt with her students.
She has to speak loudly and be rude because she’s Jewish?!?
If one of her colleagues had said “she’s argumentative and obnoxious because she’s Jewish”, they’d have been fired for antisemitism
Honestly, on her own evidence she sounds like an insufferable twat and on that basis I’m supporting those who tried to sack her.
>The university said it was much more balanced in gender terms than when Plaut joined
Ah, we have covered our arses and can now get rid of the faces that we don’t think fit so well. Seems like the senior management team changed, not the prof.

Yeh, let’s not go down this road…
Anyone know if there’s like an Israeli cultural/personality thing that’s more regional and distinct from Jewishness?
You know like Brits are passive aggressive, the Spanish are expressive, the Swedes are reserved, the Americans are gregarious, except for New Yorkers are always rushing. Is there an Israeli personality type that isn’t a Jewish thing, but an Israeli thing?
