I came to Germany this year and I want to improve myself in the fields of software-coding-cyber security. Normally, I am a nurse, but due to some traumas, I want to work in a different field. I have no knowledge at the moment and will train myself from scratch. I need a laptop, up to 1150 euro. I have searched for a long time on the internet, but since I do not have much knowledge, I ask you to help me. I found 3 laptops and couldn’t decide which one to buy.

Which of these 3 should I buy, or would you recommend a different laptop?

  1. Any reason why all three are “Gaming” laptops? Better save the money for the graphics card and invest in one with a longer warranty.

  2. The 17″ model would give additional useful screen real estate for coding, but it will be heavier. Otherwise the specs are all reasonably similar. Graphics card isn’t important for coding or cyber security. If you decide to stick with a 15″ screen, the one with the i7-12650 processor will be somewhat faster than the one with the i7-11370.

    I recommend going to Geizhals, that’s a popular tech price comparison. I filtered it for you but feel free to adjust the filters

    These are all solid, with USB C display port if you want to hook them up to a monitor, minimum 4 GB VRAM and 16 gb RAM, minimum 8C/12T, m.2 storage, fullhd panel etc. Any of these will handle tough workloads and games at medium settings
