  1. Such lovely people, as long as they get there’s they couldn’t give two shits about anything. Absolute disgusting individuals.

Edit: I said individuals, but they’re members of the party that voted against feeding kids not too long ago, it’s the entire party. All disgusting individuals.

  2. When the Daily Mail comments are being somewhat logical, you know the tides have turned against the Conservatives.

  3. Where I used to work, council officers didn’t get London weighting but councillors did, despite working in the same building. Guess who’s decision that was

  4. Well Daily Mail, MP’s rejected a windfall tax on energy companies and are feeding tax payers money to them so profits wont be hit, gave a tax cut for the rich that needs £50 billion in cuts from public spending… I think that’s going to hit school meals and other assistance such as benefits that help feed these kids at home too, how about a story on that?

  5. I’m starting to get the impression that almost everyone in politics is an absolute cunt. I know that can’t be true but still. Fuck the absolute lot of them.

  6. That’s enough reddit today what the fuck is wrong with these people? How can you be that fucking immoral to starve kids

  7. Can’t believe it’s 2 years until the next GE. It’s going to get so much worse under Truss, the utter idiot.

  8. When are people going to realise like celebs ,politicians are just people too . People for the most part are selfish and self serving especially when they have the power to be .

  9. Leaving the the fact it’s in the mail to one side, is anyone really surprised that councillors did this.

They are no different to any other politicians. They’re just yet more examples of snouts in the trough and screw everyone else.

It’s about time that something is done to clean up politics, as it no longer viewed as being a public servant. It’s now simply a position that is ideal to line your own pockets.

Can you think of anyone in a political position that is struggling to make ends meet?

  10. The amazing part of this is that it wasn’t either of the Northamptonshire unitaries doing this.

  11. As someone who knows Steve Dixon, I didn’t even know he was a Tory or money grabbing prick. Got most of his money from his mum and dad. He’s done a lot for his local community but in hindsight only if it benefits him. As a father with a child who has school dinners I shan’t be shaking his hand next time I see him.

  12. Good ammunition for Labour when the general election comes though. It’s not libel if it is true, so they can make some nice billboards and leaflets with this information on it to highlight just how much the local council cares about the future generation.

  13. This pisses me off more than a lot here. I’m a teacher in Central Bedfordshire and the amount of deprivation in our area is mind boggling when we have such afluent areas to the South, East and West (Hertfordshire, Cambridge and Buckinghamshire).

These people do not understand the difficulties people at the bottom of the scale have. We have so many children who struggle to have a healthy meal, but our school catering services are so stretched that it is becoming harder and harder to give them their meal. This just compounds the problem of raising their education levels to escape poverty.

  14. Why are they allowed to approve their own pay rise and how exactly does the pay rise work in this system?

I’m talking about factually, I actually have no idea, if anyone does that’d be great

  15. Very nearly a Yes, Minister plot episode, except it was a football club on the line – which at the moment I’d expect to get approved faster than school meals, along side the councilors pay boost.
