For once TVP did it right. Putin described as „war crimimal, leader of russian regime” in official evening news.

  1. Emotionally I think it’s what almost all people in Poland, the vast majority of Europeans and Westerners want to see. Having said that, I must say I’m not ok with such semi-official labels on the news. Privately, I believe both do him justice. And he deserves a few worse.

However, he hasn’t been found guilty of war crimes by any court of law. I don’t think it’s the job of journalists to give such titles. Effectively, they inflate the meaning behind such words. As to “Leader of the Russian regime”, the term is so vague, I’m probably tempted to turn a blind eye to this obvious propaganda buzzword because it’s about Russia’s leader, who – since this is Reddit and I’m a nobody – is a murderer, a kleptocrat, and a massive wanker.

Even though such titles send pleasant tingling sensations here and there in my tummy (and in my most honest opinion, are true), I don’t think it’s good journalism. Then again, it’s the TVP, so my concerns about the quality and standards of journalism are perhaps ridiculously naïve.

  2. But what about the other side?! (TVN24 was describing it as “Russian regime” in March or April, already.)

  3. TVP naprawde uważa że to jest informacja zdatna do wysłuchania przez dzieci 😶 (lewy górny róg)

  4. “Przywódca państwa terrorystycznego” byłoby bliżej prawdy.

    Edit (English version):
“Leader of the terrorist state” would have been closer to truth.

  5. Polacks cream their panties when they type/read stuff like this xD

  6. That’s cool. Now just give Obama, Bush and Blair exact same label please✌️

  7. Powinno być “Przywódca separatystycznego moskiewskiego regionu wschodniej Ukrainy”

  8. Thats so fucking dumb. Emotions shouldnt impact journalistic integrity

  9. Starting to think Poland was responsible for blowing up Nordstream pipeline

  10. On one hand, I want the state TV to be professional and present nothing but the facts, no commentary whatsoever.

On the other hand, if they are already biased, I won’t stop them from labeling Putin like that. His mother was a hamster and his father smelled of elderberries.
