>_These mug shots comes from a police identification book believed to be from the 1930s. It was originally found in a junk shop by a member of the public and subsequently donated to Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums. No information is available to confirm which police force compiled it but evidence suggests it’s from the Newcastle upon Tyne area._
That one-eyed fella had over 30 million associates?
Iโm not sure that there were even that many people in the population at that time.
Amazing how short they all are
I was tall in the 1920s and 30s!
The hairstyles wouldn’t be out of place now.
It is interesting to see how subjective and almost chatty the bios are from that era “a general thief and bad character” – lovely.
How did the height of men increase so much over 100 years? Also if this was a manโs height Iโm 1920/30 how tall were they in 17th century during civil war ?
They crossed out the S in Eyes lol
The cop who took both a front shot and a profile shot in the same picture using a mirror must have earned a promotion for that.
Put them in a Sports Direct Slazenger tracksuit, give them a crap neck tattoo, and they’d not look out of place today.
These are so fascinating, so many little details! With the haircuts being what they are, I might know or have passed one of these guys in the street today.
Theyโre so shortโฆ
And they crossed the S off โeyesโ.
Ugh, love all these little details!!
John Hollings was later released to Craggy Island and purchased an ‘I Shot JR’ t-shirt
Hahahahaha love the way they crossed out eyes and made it just eye.
Youโd find 8 people looking like this down my local Wetherspoons
So much for James Potter being killed by Voldemort. Your dad was a petty thief, Harry.
Fatty Potter lmao !
On a serious note though , these scars and injuries are most likely from WW1 , the horrors these guys must have witnessed, itโs not surprising they turned out to be crims
I can just imagine the officer filling the form in for the first prisoner:
_colour of eyes_
**looks at prisoner** …
**crosses out โsโ**
_eye_
What does โCompโ mean? And why are they all Fresh?
Thomas Orange looks like he’s the inspiration for the guy in Peaky Blinders
“I remember a time when you could leave your front door unlocked, and nothing would be stolen”
Domestic theft and crime where at an all time high during ww1 and ww2
*In Hagrid voice* “Fatty Potter”
What does “build: prop” mean? My first guess was that it means stocky, like a rugby prop, but all of these guys are quite differently sized and are all the same “build”
Could flick through these all day, brilliant !!
This is clearly not Michael Laveryโs first rodeo.
