Liz Truss and Kwarteng ‘libertarian anarchists’, says RMT boss Mick Lynch

  1. I fucking wish. They’re about as anarchist as North Korea. There are basically no libertarians in mainstream politics. Maybe a couple of Tory backbenchers who identify as such, and Boris paid lip service to the term – but no real libertarians and certainly no anarchists.

  2. I do like Mr Lynch, got to be the nicest thing said about that mad duo for the last couple of weeks, including most Tories. Sadly the idea that they have any ideology or plan is pretty much wide of the mark.

  3. two people handing as much wealth and power to what amount to neo-feudal lords, is neither libertarian or anarchist. its… neo-feudalist.

  4. Theres a lot of libertarians clutching at straws on here recently.

I just can’t wait for the end of these god awful policies and a return to sanity and integrity.

  5. No? You can’t just say words that already have meanings.

There’s nothing “libertarian anarchist” about them.

American style right libertarianism, maybe but calling them “anarchists” is an insult to anarchists.

  6. They are certainly OK with letting things burn and collapse on their watch, while they sell and steal as much as they can in the process. They care about themselves and their friends and family, they do not care about the average person. They probably see their time in power as short and are content with stealing anything that is not nailed down before their time is up, handing the hollow corpse of the economy to a Labour government to clean up after them. I can definitely see investment in services reaching an all time low and not recovering until years after the Tories are out of power.

  7. The anarchist part of libertarian refers to 0 intervention in the economy.

Giving billions to energy companies and endless privatisation of public services sounds more Corpratist.

  8. I would probably identify as a moderate centre right ish libertarian, being lumped in with anything near Liz and Kwasi is just flat inaccurate. I get that he’s trying to be cutting, but when you compare someone who voted against gay marriage (Kwasi), and a pair who have built their platform on borrowing unfunded hundreds of billions in a war against sound money to Libertarianism, you just end up sounding ill informed. When I’ve heard the guy speak, he generally seems competent and intelligent, so I think it’s simply chasing a headline, but even so.

  9. Man angry about people doing what they want because of a lack of regulation who voted to remove said regulations so that people could do what they want.

Mick lynch on the topic of his union and workers rights is spot on.

Not so much on other stuff.

His views on brexit are woeful.

  10. They aren’t libertarianism, they support liberty for the rich to fuck us over not our rights both individually and collectively as the people. They don’t support anarchy as they are the highest level of hierarchy this country has seen since thatcher, that of uncontrolled capital. I love mick lynch but this take is bad
