While Switzerland struggles to vaccinate, Portugal is already finished.

  1. Because people in countries with luxury healthcare get complacent with health prevention. People here can tout “natural immunity” with herbs, juices and crystals because they know that when shit inevitably hits the fan, a big-ass chopper picks them up and they are in a world-class hospital in 15 minutes tops, all of this for the cost of their deductible which is a few days worth of salary for most.

  2. The reality is that many people are kind of okay with the way things are going, and if it were up to them we would get rid of most COVID measures. From a risk perspective that makes sense: these people probably accept that they will get COVID (again), and they are 98% sure they won’t die from it. If hospitals get completely swamped they know the federal government will step in anyway. So I get the logic of the antivaxers/antimaskers.
Some of us like to think there’s a true global maximum, where almost everyone is vaccinated and case numbers are super low, but for this huge group of people the local maximum is good enough, given the “cost” of vax+masks in their opinion.

  3. Struggles? How about opening up booster shots for the whole population already, instead of waiting another few weeks to be in the same situation as Austria? How about allowing vaccinations for children? How about ordering _more_ than 7 fucking million doses for 2022, if there is a good chance that 1 shot per year isn’t quite enough?

Why do these fuckwit politicians waste valuable time, if all they need to do is look at what is happening in surrounding countries?

  4. Funny, every non-vaccinated person that I know here in Switzerland are proudly anti-vaxx.
There must be surely others that don’t want the vaccine due to health risks and issues, but I just know too many anti-vaxx to believe this… just on my building, from 8 families that live here, 5 are anti-vaxx 🤷🏻‍♀️

  5. It is important to not speak on behalf of the non-vaccinated. No, they are not all anti-vax. They have their own reasons. If we stigmatise them, dialogue is shut and we are as stupid as the anti-vax.

  6. In Portugal, the TV spent months fear mongering everyone. There are 24h news channel that spend the day with infographics of death toll, number o cases and so on. People were so afraid that there were fights in front of vaccination centers just to be the first ones taking the jab.

  7. Hey lunatics! CH vaccinated 90% of the vulnerable population. It’s ok to try to get the other 10%, but enough with coercing young and healthy individuals into vaccination.
