I’m used to more flat bougatsa, the sweet one being powdered with cinnamon. But looking super nice!

Excuse me, but what the fuck is this?
Bougatsa is my favorite!
Come to Thessaloniki so you can treat yourself to the best bougatsa in the world. This one is a disgrace the Athenians make.
I am part Greek but I know nothing about Greece.
That is not bougatsa. Seems like an “elevated” galaktompoureko (milk pie). I say elevated because of the nuts and jam. But yeah, definitely not bougatsa.
To me, this looks more like a hybrid between baklava and galaktoboureko! But I don’t doubt it was tasty, just not what we call bougatsa (which is divine as well).
I think this is a very old Greek pastry shop in Alexandria Egypt.
Ρε παιδιά τι έφαγε ο άνθρωπος το κοιτάω το ξανά κοιτάω άκρη δεν βγάζω
That’s not bougatsa by any stretch of the imagination
