So, what exactly did the last lot of austerity achieve? I thought everyone has agreed it was a disaster and entirely unnecessary.
Absolutely no mandate for this, 2019 manifesto specifically said no more austerity. There’s also no reason for austerity, which doesn’t even work anyway. This is just evil.

I cant think of a single local Council that would be described as being flush with cash. What is there left to be cut? Would it not be more honest (and I realise the futility of expecting anything approaching honesty from a politician) to say that certain local government functions are going to cease entirely and be made a pay-per service?
Get them out. With inflation budgets are already cut in real terms before these ideological fucktards get involved
If the Tories under Truss feel the same way about the devolved nations as they under Johnson, they will be told to suck it up and to fall into line. The Tories would rather the UK break up than be fair to devolved nations. They still see the UK as a place where England rules, while Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland do as they are told like good subjects.
