It looks like not only the Swiss, but also the citizens of our neighbor country would welcome the EU becoming more like Switzerland. 75% of the survey participants indicated that the EU should introduce more democratic decision taking. Also, they think the Swiss system yields better political outcomes in all tested dimensions.
This is quite good news, as it seems the neighbours also realise that the EU is a bit of a neo-liberal imperialist project.
Hopefully the citizens of EU member states can have enough input to democratise the institution. Although given how centralised decision-making is within the EU, I’m not sure how that would happen.
