So like the title says, I am looking for some insight into a plumbing issue I encountered this morning. I used the kitchen sink this morning only to hear the sound of gushing water downstairs (not the usual sound of the water in the pipes). I go downstairs to find that one of the brackets that holds the kitchen pipe along the ceiling had called out, and the drain pipe connected to the kitchen was resting on the gas pipe below it. A quick call to the landlord confirmed that nothing can be don’t about it today, so I did a little investigating. I pushed the pipe all the way back up, and the spike back into the ceiling and it felt secure. I was able to run water down it, but I know that it could easily happen again seeing as the only thing holding the pipe was the connection. Which I started to wiggle the pipe back out and noticed the the vertical pipe after the bend was starting to wiggle up. So I took it off and found that the vertical pipe was not glued in, and the junction that had disconnected that caused the leak was basically just a junction with a gasket on it. It looked like this https://i.imgur.com/D7xJAPS.jpg
And the whole thing looked like this https://i.imgur.com/R1d3mLe.jpg
My question is, do I need to ask my landlord to call a plumber for this, or is it really as simple as push the pipe back on, and maybe move the bracket so it’s secured in the ceiling again.

As long as the junction has a gasket, it’s alright. I would also clean the area where the gasket seals to the tube
