Ahojte! What do you think of this: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_AxL-JvJ\_vQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AxL-JvJ_vQ)
I’ve lived in London, Prague, various cities in the Netherlands, visited Belgium and Paris etc. I lived for a year in Bratislava and I often miss those days.
Bratislava being the perfect size for getting to know most of it for a year, I know every place shown in this video. I ignore the cheesy dancing and just look at the places. The ending at 3:13 with the St. Martin’s Cathedral and the Hotel Kyjev gives me goosebumps and triggers nostalgia in me.
Is it weird that this 70s video from Bratislava triggers me, a non-Slovak foreigner? It was a city where most locals and expat residents treated me in a more welcoming way than in my own home city. I did more things in my (almost) a year there than I have done for many years in my home city. It’s a rare case of a foreign city where I have wished I was born there or my whole family has moved there when I was a little kid.
