What the fuck is wrong with people?

  1. People are fucking horrible.

They get these beautiful cute little puppies, and once they grow up the novelty has wore off and they realise they can’t be fucking arsed walking and training a dog then they get rid of them.

And a lot of these fucking owner buy these dogs and encourage backyrad breeders.

They should be fucking banbed from ever having a dog.

  2. Novelty. When the fun and games end and people discover a puppy is just like a child. They get fed up and don’t bother. Mainly bored young couples and families thinking it’s a good idea to get a pup.

  3. Lots of people who never had dogs before think that it’s all just a big andrex ad when they get them. Quickly get sick of the idea of training them not to chew the bookshelves and all the other weird stuff they get up to.

  4. My young lad is diagnosed with autism and he loves his time with my brothers dog. Giving serious thought to getting him one when he’s a little older as I can see the benefits of the dog friendship for him. Sure I can see the benefits for my brother 😂. He divorced his wife and his only concern during the separation was the dog. But they do require more than people realise. A fecking badly trained dog is a sin. Poor lil things in the picture and they’re prob the lucky ones (as in didn’t meet even worse owners)

  5. Dog ownership was heavily romanticised over the pandemic – people didn’t pay due attention to the fact that one day, life would return to normal and they wouldn’t be WFH constantly and be available for doggy daycare!

  6. “Children got fed up of him”

I now understand why my dad didn’t my impatient ass a dog when I was a wee’un. That’s just sad.

  7. People are thick. The sooner we all realise that at least 90% of the general population are stupid, the easier it is to understand why they do things like this.

My pup used to look at me with side eye while squeeking a toy if I wasn’t playing with him or taking him for a walk. Very annoying but did I ever consider kicking him out of the house? No. Because I’m fully aware that animals are annoying sometime. Just like kids.

  8. Animal cruelty isn’t just limited to your normal scumbags These dogs come from standard middle class electric SUV driving homes. They treat dogs like accessories, and opt for dogs from breeders without one bit of research.

  9. Mums next door neighbour she in no way abuses her dog, a yappy barky friendly thing but the thing is starved for attention always leashed out front or the back. Never takes it for walks while she fucks off for most of the day to look after her grandkids leaving the dog on it’s own.

Look I got a wee dog, that novelty soon wore off when nobody paid her any attention for having the dog, she’d get more respect walking the fuckin thing or playing fetch out the garden.

  10. People are such assholes… I’m literally having tears in my eyes looking at those beautiful furry friends and reading their stories. Wish I could adopt them all.

We rescued our furry family member when she was less than 6 months old. She was one of those puppies thrown out on the streets after Christmas. The kids must had got bored and parents fed up with additional duties…

When we got to visit her first time in the rescue centre she was skin and bones, the volunteers do their best but there is only so much money and time to spare… she spend most time in her kennel and it took few days before she learned the grassy bits are were no 1 & 2 goes on, not the concrete parts like pavements etc. She was also terrified of being taken for a walk to a park or any woodlands, I guess she tought she would be dumped again…

Fortunately all of that was very short lived. She is seriously the best dog and I love her so much my heart is full to the brim.

  11. >Children got fed up of him.

No, the parents got little Tommy a dog and once the realisation hit that they’d have to do the heavy lifting when it came to looking after the pet they bailed. There should be some sort of system that bans people like this from owning an animal.

  12. Every single one of those people should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
“Attention seeking” it’s a fucking PUPPY!
I’ve had my JRT since he was 8 weeks old, he pissed and shat everywhere, chewed everything, and it only takes a few weeks, at most months, to solve those problems. Disgraceful

  13. I will never understand how someone could abandon an animal like this.

If you’re not prepared to look after them their whole life then don’t get a pet. They aren’t playthings.

I had a cat for 17 years, he arrived as a stray kitten but I looked after him. He was the most adorable, loving cat you could want and had more personality than many humans.

Eventually he developed cancer and he had to be put down when he deteriorated. it was one of the most heartbreaking days of my life but I’d take all the hardship, all the cleaning up, all the sleepless nights and all the vet bills just to have him back. I’d go through it all again just to hear him purring beside me.

Please don’t get a pet if you aren’t prepared to love them like they love you.

  14. We rescued an incredibly skinny “lab cross” who turned out to be just a pure bred black labrador, with velvet ears to die for.

It’s always so upsetting to see families throw away such unconditionally loving animals.

  15. Jesus fucking Christ. I hope this shelter laid into these people when they dropped these poor dogs off. What horrible, self entitled fucking cunts

  16. I remember a girl I know through horses sending me down a rabbit hole about this charity about 5 years ago when they were called Animal Haven Animal Rescue. There was a Facebook group called AHAR the truth or something like that and people were saying they put up the pictures and sob stories for donations and then put the animals down. Think that group is long gone now lol

  17. Another one who is angry and frustrated. I’d love another dog, but I haven’t had one since my teens as we don’t have the lifestyle that would make a good home for a dog. We work mostly away from the house, and we have a tiny garden space (24sqm). We’re more suited to cats, and we have two spoilt feline overlords. We often mention ‘when we retire’ when we talk about how great it would be to have a dog in the future. Why other ‘potential’ dog owners don’t have the same insight into what they can offer a dog is beyond me.

  18. I would love to re-home one of these pets but it isn’t allowed in our apartment block. I think it’s the same for a lot of people nowadays.

  19. I wonder how many of these people have kids without any foresight and then get fed up with them only to realise that they can’t return them

  20. I’d give up a kid before I’d give up a dog. These people are only going to pass on their epic stupidity to their kids, who’ll do this kind of shit themselves in the future. Bunch of complete morons!

  21. These in a way are lucky at least they have a chance now to get a decent home.

Meanwhile the state sponsored greyhound slaughter continues….20million I think at last budget

  22. Every single one of them are horrible cunts but that poor German Shepherd that was used for pups is sickening. No doubt when that pup is older it’ll be gone too
