  1. Surprised that no one mentioned this yet. FEMSA is known for being a major independent Coca Cola bottling group and for their South American convenience store chain OXXO.

Apparently this is their attempt to break into the European market.

  2. Valora has been in trouble for years. Covid has inflicted a further severe blow. I only hope that most of the jobs can be saved.

  3. Valora is in trouble. I did not know that Brezelkönig also belongs to them, and I occasionally grab a sandwich to go from them. That can’t be a high margin business.

The problem with Kiosk and Avec is that at the high frequency locations, they almost always compete with Coop and Migros. Why would I go to Avec and pay twice as much when I can have it a few meters away in a familiar environment? A can of beer costs 4.- at Kiosk, but downstairs at Coop it costs 1.45. Who is the target audience here? The vending machines are also pretty much dead anyway.

  4. Well i actually hope that atleast Ditsch and Bretzelkönig are able to stay the way they are. Would actually like if they would join officially together and get outta this group
