What does this mean?

  1. It seems 25% of the population can just f .ck off, how do they choose who gets the places? The faster is the gschwinder or what?

  2. As long as its just zürich😉.
Apparently the whole of switzerland could house 114% of the Population

  3. That’s just bad management of the Canton or City Zurich.
Basically this says 3 out of 4 are safe the rest can “chill” outside

  4. Is there a point to this post or is OP just doing some fearmongering?

Fact is that you can’t prepare an entire nation for every eventuality and those sheltsers are a extremely short term thing anyway, it’s not like Falout 4 or something you know.

  5. In rund 370’000 privaten und öffentlichen Schutzräumen sind rund neun Millionen Schutzplätze vorhanden

From the official swiss site. Zurich may not have enough but 25% just fuck off to st. gallen or wherever else for a place. Or am I getting something wrong? You’re interpreting this as if zurich is the only canton and if zurichians dont have enough space they’re made to sit in the grass outside lol.

  6. Let’s see how many places they have in Germany, or France, or Italy…

    Or in any other country…

    Oh, snap!

  7. In any case I think these shelters are pointless unless they organize drills on how to find them and use them. My building has one. I have no idea how it would be used (after they take the wine and the bikes out…). Should I just go inside? Lock it? For how long? Should I bring water? Food? Lamps? A bucket to shit in it? Anything else? Will we receive instructions while there? If we don’t hear any instruction, what do we do? I am very confused by the incredible cost of creating and maintaining such a system without training people to use it or at least provide some guidance. A terrible waste of money in my opinion.

  8. Be ready for the war haha.
I remember seeing an underground parking near Lausanne, it was a shelter in fact with armored doors …
Swiss is so different from France.

  9. whats your point exactly? in hypothetical war szenario, in a convetional all out war the city would a have a lot less residents, some would get drafted, some would help the war effort, some would flee to saver places, some would move back to their hometown etc. and the bunkers would be only used for shelter from air raids because if the frontline moved to zürich it would be evacuated, in a nuclear war ur fucked either way, underground you would slowly succumb to food and water shortage, psychological issues, sickness etc. and how the bunker is build, radiation that slowly seeps in, above ground u get either vaporized or radiation gets u eventually so either place u eventually die

  10. I don‘t wanna go in one of those shelters anyway. I will be sitting in my apartment listening to „I don‘t want to set the world on fire“ or in case of no internet sing it to myself.

  11. I guess the 25% that stay out could be those that constantly told us that there would never ever be a war again in europe and that the army and protection measures would be completely pointless.

  12. Well, I just heard that Germany has space for 3% of its population, so it means the Zurich is fairly well off. Of course, those private shelters have been converted to storage space, so actually putting people in the could be a challenge.

Better solution not have a nuclear war. Could someone please pass the message?

  13. Are you guys really want to live that bad? You would live the rest of your life in a shelter? I rather die from the bomb

  14. There are places for 330’000 People in shelters.

Swiss shelters are designed to be used only for a short time. It will be cramped, it will stink and the air circulation will be a 40+ year old machine.

When the air filters (that are also 40+ years old) are used, only half the airflow is there.

The shelters are good against direct air strikes. If the house is destroyed, you’ll probably be okay in the shelter. If there is an chemical attack, the air filter will safe your life (active carbon filter). If the attack is biological it will get you as soon as you have to leave the shelter. If the attack is atomic, you will live longer if you wait in the shelter until the fallout is through (probably 24 hours or so?).

The design of the shelters is so there will be time to prepare the shelters first. Then there will be some responsible people assigned to organize the watches, while life above ground still goes on. Only in an emergency (alarms) you go in the shelter. The current watch will know the people who have a place in the shelter.

That ss how I learned it about 2-3 decades ago. Probably not much has changed since then.

  15. As a german, can I offer to rattle with my sabre and stir up nationalism so you guys have a better basis for an argument?
