Is this a bad joke? I feel like in the good old covid days, the government has to make some advertising. I saw a couple of these in the S-Bahn AG/ZH. What are your thoughts?

What’s the bad joke about this?
what is sad is that plenty of people don’t take the most basic actions to save electricity, crisis or not.
Don’t blame the government to baby sit when a non negligible part of the population acts like babies.
One ride of S-Bahn is consuming more than all the LED lights in the whole country in a hundred years 🙂
I suppose trying to get people to save energie in the midst of the coming winter gas shortage is a good idea. I’m not sure posters will help, but it is something, and I bet transit posters get read more than street advertisements as the audience is captive and bored AF. I doubt our neighbours are going to be very helpful in supplying energie when their own people are struggling, so we have to conserve more either voluntarily or be forced via more drastic mandates.
Print it in flyer format and hand over to every passenger of every private jet serviced by Swiss airports… or move these ads into private jets in a format as they are?
These ads are more than just telling people to save electricity, it’s about giving the global public a mindset.
Im not sure if you know that you will pay for it end of the year. It is not even about them it is about your own money in the end. I loking forwards to the i can’t pay this bill posts from some ” freedom fighters” here. Funny that they are always the same guys aka anti corona brothers pro putin lovers 🤣
Well, I wasnt offended in the good old covid days about stuff like this and this wouldnt offend me too. We are living two very different lifes I guess.
I mean, do you also get pissed off about those school start posters reminding car drivers to pay attention to kids?
You maybe overestimate some peoples interest in anything. Most people have no idea or reference of what KW/h or Watt is, and they surely don’t give a fuck about saving energy.
only bad joke here is OP
Yeah, I am with you it’s a bad joke. It doesnt make much sense, if you compare it to the energy the industry uses.
But yeah, you wont get much understandment, because the corpos brainwashed the people into believing they are the most special thing and have the individual responsability for everything… sad world!
Edit: yeah call me whatever, but I dont waste my time with brainwashed idiots, so I just block them
It is a bad joke. While the people should save energy, even to the smallest account, there are still ice fields cooled with a lot of energy.
Also no energy saving by the industry (using a lot of energy).
So yes, a very bad joke.
I think, that people don’t get the point of those “ads”, legitimizes them singlehandetly.
I like the positivity in all the replies saying it’s about getting the right mindset. I share the same view that it might seem stupid but the average dude does not necessarily pay attention to small habits.
It’s not only about energy, but it can also be applied to food, recycling etc. If everybody tries to make a small effort it’s a big difference on a nationwide level.
As we are seeing since covid, a small change coming from everybody could prevent shortages/bottlenecks which have an ginormous effect on the global system.
Nothing wrong with that, however I would set up the differently. Just forbid people to save energy. Very soon the Anti-Energy Conspiracy will handle it …..
My thoughts? That we are racing into an energy crisis and people like you still did not get it
All in all are all those well meant reminders (as well them on the street like ‚drive right pass left‘ etc.) somewhat annoying and remind a little bit to paroles of other regimes how to behave. But hey, as long as they don’t spend a lot of money for it and it might have an effect, I don’t mind too much up to now. A kind of luxury problem in comparison to others, at least we can call a war a war and we are only gently reminded for good practices.
Instead of government telling us to switch off lights, not tp heat and to put lids on pans, they should provide their citizens with affordable energy. That’s a govermments duty, not otherwise. USA has one sleepy Joe – we have 7 of them.
Politicians must also always contradict each other. Some say save electricity, others say drive e-cars. How will that look in the future when there are only electric cars? The biggest mistake was to shut down the nuclear power plants, which are very dangerous and the hazardous waste is also a problem, but the amount of electricity was enormous. Now we are dependent on foreign countries and will eventually have the same problem as Germany with the gas…
it’s like the co2 footprint all over again. first we incentivise the common people to save energy because we can’t afford the economy to take a hit. “we” being the rich company owners who don’t care about saving energy because it would hurt profits
Nice that the government finally is interested in saving energy. But the energy consumption by the population is minimal, compared to what large corporations consume. The government should also hold them accountable.
People are stupid these days and enjoy propaganda fed to them.
What’s the Problem? Many people are not aware of stuff like this. And we need to save energy… sooo

btw: Username checks out
And the electricity used to create all these banners…?
That’s called to shift the responsibility of a problem to the people without doing something really helpful – to be able to blame the people afterwards.
