Hello, just to be make sure, top one is water tap for washing machine, but what about the bottom one? is it for connection waste water pipe from washing machine? since there is no other holes for it? we simply just connect it here?

  1. Connect there and make sure that it has a water pipe fastener (or whatever it’s called) tightly screwed in.

  2. Washing machine inlet goes in the upper connection (cold water tab) and waste outlet to the lower connection. Make sure to use a hose clamp to secure the outlet.

  3. The water has to drain out through there OP. Funny how in America we used to toss the drainage hose in the sink.

    Edit: wording

  4. I have the same exact drain, but when I connect the washing machine pipe, the water is just stuck and it cannot be drained. If I remove it and just put the hose to the sink, It drains normally. Could the drain hole on the wall be stuck or the washing machine doesn’t have enough pressure to push out the water upwards?

  5. I have always admired plumbing in Finnish houses. Most of it seems to be on the wall and in stainless steel pipes. Does anyone know why stainless steel is the standard in Finland, as opposed to copper? I know that other countries prefer copper for its antibacterial/antiviral(?) properties; is the tap water in Finland so pure that copper is not needed? (I know that it’s very very good, and low in chalk)

  6. Water outlet there has a adapter or two, I’m not sure. You may need a proper one to fit your hose. You can find one from prisma or tokmanni for sure.

Allthough it is very common in rental apartments in finland, that the one who leaves takes the adapter with them in case the new apartrment doesn’t have one. Just in case 😉

  7. Make sure the waste water goes actually to the drain and not inside the wall. There has been some horror stories on papers where on renovation the waste pipe has been just cut out and it drains water inside the walls.
