‘Do You Actually Know Where They’ve Been Fracking?’: Liz Truss Skewered In Excruciating Interview | The prime minister was left struggling for answers in a succession of local radio interviews

  1. I don’t understand how people like this function. If I started a job, caused chaos in my first week, then humiliated myself in car crash interviews where my brain stopped functioning and I couldn’t think of anything to say, I’d just quit, like “you know what, I’m out of my depth, I thought I wanted this, but I’m not up to it, bye”

Being able to keep talking, even if it is waffle, is the first requirement of any MP, yet here we have the Prime fucking Minister, an interviewer asks her a good question and clearly she’s having a Ross moment inside her brain while she says to herself “that’s a really good question, he’s probably right, I’ve got no good answer, oh fuck I’ve paused for 3s already, say something, anything, what are you waiting for, form some words, oh my God this is the longest that anyone has not talked ever”

  2. The Tory party knows they’re fucked if she’s out. They’re effectively ruining the country because they know they wouldn’t win a GE.

  3. Excruciating stuff. She’s as poorly briefed as Johnson but with the charisma and wit of a slug. They’ve managed to find the worst prime minister ever four times in a row now, quite a feat. Surely there are no depths left to plumb even in the sludgy scrapings at the bottom of the tory barrel.

  4. I’ll refer back to what my friend said when she became PM.

“She’s got a face like a Yorkshire terrier trying to understand how pigeons can fly”

  5. Here’s a direct link to the audio in question, but holy shit, this is so much worse than the headline makes it out.

Also, if she’s intent on proceeding with the tracking sites on the basis of obtaining “local consent”, I’d like to know what is it that actually looks like. 10%? 20%?

**edit:** I’ve just noticed from viewing multiple interviews that when she has no easy deflection available her she just ignores the question and continues with “As I was saying…”. Idiot weasel of a woman.

  6. Listened to first one on BBC Sounds but had to bail out because the presenter failed even once to point out that the Energy Price Relief Scheme consisted entirely of stuffing TENS OF BILLIONS of pounds of taxpyer money down the trousers of energy suppliers as EXCESS PROFITS

Pretty sure there were other ways forward that didnt involve UK taxpayers paying for even more oligarch yachts.

    Partial Nationalisation?
    More Windfall taxes?

    Neither gets a mention.

I love the BBC but Jesus, they don’t make it easy sometimes.

  7. “i dOn’t aCcEpT ThE PREmIsE Of yOuR QUEsTiON”

Just say that you’ve got no clue. You’ll sound like marginally less of an idiot.

  8. Fuck me..is this the best we can do for a prime minister. Take the fact she’s an odious Tory cunt out of the equation. Is this our best person for the job?

  9. Remember, folks. She was chosen by Tories as the best Tory to lead the country.

If that doesn’t tell you how inept Tories and their party are, you need help.

  10. Iv come to the realisation she’s nothing but a puppet for the Tory’s! We should be pushing that she has no mandate with the British public without a GE!

  11. Damn, that was absolutely brutal. In a way I feel quite sorry for her – she’s a sacrificial lamb to the slaughter. I can’t in good faith believe the tories didn’t know what they were doing when they put her forward. She and the cabinet she chose are criminally inexperienced and inept, even a moron could see that, and yet here we are. What a joke we have become.

  12. I’m pretty sure i read that the founder of a major fracking business disclosed that the UK is a geographically pointless venture, i.e. its pointless Fracking in the UK as it will never supplement demands let alone meet.

    Edit.

    Found it.

[“Fracking in the UK will be impossible at any meaningful scale and will not help with the energy price crisis, the founder of the UK’s first fracking company has warned.”](https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/sep/21/fracking-wont-work-uk-founder-chris-cornelius-cuadrilla)

Bad wording on my part with the original comment.

  13. Yet another ‘get rich quick’ scheme goes tits up.

The idiots that voted her in must be shaking their heads in disbelief.
