  1. I was in the post office in a small town in the north east before the weekend. 2 ladies came in with kids 6/7 years old to ask in the post office about their payment. Couldn’t speak English. Had to use a translator on their phone.
Kids in the local school uniform. Saw them coming out of the sweet shop a little later.
Dunno why but it really struck me how these poor people must be coping, having to go from your home to somewhere, anywhere. Yes they’re safe, but it’s hardly ideal when you hear things like this about them being put in hotels with Russian refugees and rows happening or ending up in some heap of a place somewhere.

Where’s all these modular homes that were ti he built? Or did the nimbys get to them?

  2. > are paid €60-75 per night for the first adult refugee housed, with an extra €35-45 for each additional adult. They’re paid €35 per night for each child aged 12-18 and €20 for each child under 12.

I thought it was €400 per month to house refugees, where is this €75 a night payment coming from?

You would think after Mica, the government wouldn’t trust anyone up there to self regulate.
