I don’t understand why you would start if you aren’t already addicted to nicotine.
Then again as a nicotine addict and a caffeine addict I can’t really talk.
It’s such a fucking shame that people just take up vaping. Vaping has been the only thing that got me off cigs.
Shouldn’t that be ‘urged’? Come on BBC, you know nobody likes being told
I’ve always been confused why people who’ve never smoked before start vaping. I thought vaping was for giving up cigarettes.
If a cartridge sells for about £4 and a lot of that is tax and profit from the shop. They must be made in china for a couple of pence. Wonder what the fuck goes into that!
As someone working in the vaping industry – we absolutely do not want non-smokers using our products. There are still 6-7m smokers in the UK alone, that’s more than enough potential customers for us. Young non-smokers using our products is actually damaging to us, since it generates negative sentiment toward vaping (this reduces the chance of a smoker seeing vaping as a legitimate alternative).
According to PHE, vaping is at least 95% less harmful than smoking, however that does not mean it is risk-free.
If you are smoking and struggle to quit cold turkey, vaping and other less harmful alternatives (gum, patches, lozenges) can be a fantastic tool.
The reason we are seeing non-smokers take up vaping is that vaping is now part of our collective consciousness. In the same way that a non-smoker takes up smoking at the age of 18, or a non-drinker takes up drinking, those same people are taking up vaping.
Stopped smoking dead 8 years ago, got my menthol vape does me fine and no stinking smell
It’s a shame that humans are the way that we are. Vaping is a great tool to get off smoking and yet many nonsmokers will instead use it to become addicts and damage their health with little benefit for decades to come. Nicotine is like refined sugar; the psychoactive effects are fleeting and not even particularly pleasant but it doesn’t matter cos it hooks you quick.
Love how I can’t have plastic straws or plastic cutlery (less important) but we get the new Plastic deposable vapes pens that you now get to see all over the fucking place.
> The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience team were commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Care to undertake the biggest review of its kind on vaping in England. The findings confirm: It makes you look like a massive virgin
That’s a shame, I do enjoy blowing a big cloud of smoke that travels down the street and into some poor sods face.
Just another nicotine delivery system. Vaping is not quitting. Same drug even if it is now watermelon flavoured.
Is it not possible to make vapes that have all the tasty smelly stuff but none of the harmful addictive crap?
That seems to be the reason people do it. So let them have their not cool-cool.
Or maybe we just need to figure out how to make it uncool to kids…. Middle aged guys gotta start doing it right?
I’m 30 and started using weed recently, it’s legal where I live and just using it a couple of times a week. I sometimes eat it but also got myself a dry-herb vaporiser because I hate smoking.
THey probably weren’t experts. All the vaping experts I have met would definitely advise you to start.
And get a chain wallet.
And look at this sweet rig..
It’s far ,far ,far less harmful then smoking .
That’s all that matters .
Blanket ban on all disposable vapes would solve this issue.
