Great show put on in Birr Castle this evening. Really well organised and a great day out for the kids, they (including the big child myself) were amazed and the spectacle. Well done to the organisers !

I suppose they do it from Offaly so there’s at least a small chance they won’t get blown all the way out to sea before they land, eh? :v

Nearly 20 ago, one of those guys was friends with my dad. Asked me to come along and see the balloons going up in the town park in Tullamore. As he was firing his up for lift off he told me to come over for a picture. At the last minute he picked me up and plonked me into the basket. Was absolutely unreal. Memory sticks with me to this day. Such an amazing experience that it led to me learning how to skydive and getting a skydiving license. Hadn’t seen the man in 20 years until he walked up to me there yesterday on his way to this. Made my week.
