Turkey will come around. Erdogan is just milking this as much as he can to negotiate deals and look strong back home. We don’t have to like it, but he would be stupid not to do it. My guess is he seeks financial aid and weapons.
Hungary is just Putin’s bitch. Not sure what can be done here.
Professional level trolling.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Hungary only accepts Finland’s and Sweden’s accession if the EU drops the budget *suspension* and gives them even more money than previously promised. Orbán always uses his veto vote to get something in return. It’s what autocrats do. It’s how they roll.
Same with Erdogan. He will blackmail the EU (and/or NATO (members)) to get something in return as well.
Autocrats will autocrat.
I’m still waiting for the EU to wake up and finally smell the coffee. But I’m afraid it will never happen. A lot of utterly naive MEPs still believe Orbán will change for the better one day.
But you can’t change an autocrat.
It could be pointed out that of Turkey is attacked a debate would need to take place, with the time and date to be agreed, to determine if it was an actual attack .
Concerning Turkey:
Ease of US and european weapon sales embargo. Sweden already delivers weapons to Turkey again.
Also, the opposition parties who seeked asylum in Sweden and the stance of the Swedish government in this case.
However, Sweden just voted in favor of a right leaning government. So, my guess is Turkey will not have any issues soon.
Concerning Hungary:
They need the money from the EU. That‘s however not related with NATO and the membership of Sweden and Finland.
Therefore, my guess is Hungary plays on time to see how the war is evolving and will finally approve.
However, there is still a energy dependency on Russia. If the EU can fix that problem, Hungary will be much more likely to accept NATO enlargement.
Is there a time limit in which countries have to approve or deny membership for other nations to NATO?
If not, I see Hungary approves only in Spring 2023.

These motherfuckers again.
Is it something that has to do with having Turkic ancestry that makes you act like like this?
