Lagocephalus is like a giant poisonous puffer fish . Do not eat and keep your damn fingers away from its mouth. Other than that there is this tiny Little Rock fish called a weever fish that has poisonous spines. Other than that you should be ok. Those are fish that you catch from shore. Everything else is pretty much good to go. Just try not to keep anything to small.
In Greece we have a proverb that says ” δε γαμάς που δε γαμας πήγενε για κανά ψάρεμα” which translates to “You are not fucking at all so consider going fishing” 😅
You are going to fish in a river with that bait? Go grab some worms from a local fisherman place.
This fishing gear isn’t good for greek waters. Even if you try spinning you will need different lures. My suggestion is to buy live baits or small shrimps from your local market and use the same rod for casting or surf casting.
South of Crete there is a place called “Kali Limenes” “Καλοί λιμένες”.
Great place for finish. Been there many time but i did spear fishing. I’m not sure if you can catch anything with your equipment.
Still a great place for camping!
If you see the Turkish coastguard trying to threaten you or scare you don’t budge just flip them off
The small soft plastics and lures you have here don’t look like they’d be effective at matching the hatch with the bait you’ll find in most Cretan waters. If you insist on artificials, grab a few bucktails of varying weights from 1/2 oz up to 2 oz, assuming you’re going to be fishing from shore, and maybe a couple of metal spoons. Best bet, seek out a local tackle shop and have them hook you up with the right bait and hooks for the target fish in the area. The travel rod and reel look fine though.
