Next month will mark the 210th anniversary of the Battle of Queenston Heights, where a heavily outnumbered British-Canadian force defeated an American invasion attempt of Canada.

  1. The battle was part of the War of 1812, a theatre of the wider Napoleonic Conflict and began when Britain started impounding American ships that were destined for Napoleon.

    The British commander Isaac Brock who died in the battle was a military genius, who had already defeated American forces by a series of deceptive tactics such as lighting multiple fires during marching to make his forces look much larger than they were.

    He also dressed recruits up in the uniforms worn by crack troops. These combined efforts tricked American forces into surrendering.

  3. Well lets face it, apart from WW2, America really doesn’t have a great record where wars are concerned apart from beating the Indigenous people of America
