Swapping Hong Kong for Crewe: ‘We won’t go back’

  1. I lived there as a kid in the 60s, days when Crewe Alex had to apply to re-election to Div 4 every year; they’re still the team I follow. There was a large Polish community there and we had a kids Christmas dinner in the Polish club every year. Happy days.

  2. It seems like the people from Hong Kong are like the geese that lay golden eggs. Put enough of them in a sleepy town and the entire place would prosper and light up like discos?

  3. I work in Crewe. It’s grim.

The countryside and small towns around Crewe however are lovely (Nantwich & Tattenhall).
