Before or after indexation? 15% for all ministers sounds more reasonable. Or abolish index on their wages and make them subject to citizen satisfaction (a random poll or something).
[bron](https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20210317_97274712)
Loon omlaag, bonus omhoog, broekzak, vestzak
Ze drogen vast hun tranen met de rest van hun geld.
Window dressing.
I prefer good governance, a functioning Justice department, quality infrastructure, no unnecessary long queuing lines for healthcare, quality care (for kids and seniors), etc….
How about they start paying taxes like everyone else and have their expense allowance reduced to 200€ instead of over 2000€.
Oh and forbid them from having side-businesses and/or holding more than 1 political position.
And what about mandatory attendance in parlement without a doctor’s note.
Maybe these will make them a bit more connected to society again.
Actually, I’m okay with them getting the pay rise they so desperately crave… as long as they are forever more forbidden from engaging in side-businesses, stock portfolios and every other economic activity that gives them genuine reasons not to do the right thing. Make sure they have no competing economic interests and you’ll see fewer stalling games. I’d happily pay taxes for that.
Granted, that’s a dream, I know. Any minister fool enough to suggest this will be blocked immediately, most likely forever banned from any of their networks. From PVDA to Vlaams Belang, ALL ministers will gang up on that one fool. They did when they realized they couldn’t control the climate children.
How about just stopping indexation on abnormally high wages in general, there’s no reason for someone that earns 200k to have even a percentage increase due to inflation. I doubt an 11% inflation is affecting them much, and even if it is, let them experience having to reduce energy consumption or skip that fancy dinner, maybe then they will be a little more understanding what middle and lower class are going through.
on top of the 10% they were already dropping right?…right?
I´d rather hope they would give less to the parties. Like 50% less. Before the large parties own the whole of Brussels. The wages of ministers are jus symbolic, I don´t care about that.
I understand that they need a chauffeur so we should provide them with a SNCB/NMBS abonnement so they are sure to always have a chauffeur on their way to work.
If they don’t know how to live confortably with € 2.000 netto / month, i volonteer to show them…
There is only one correct pay for all politicians. Median pay of the citizens. If the people have it well, they have it well. If the people have it bad, they have it bad. Simple.
Waarom geen 11,2% inleveren?
Wow, de volle 8%? En ondertussen nog altijd veel te veel verdienen, plus alle extralegale voordelen.
And we can probably continue by removing 8% of them… we have way too many ministers for the population.
